Superintendent's Office
I would like to welcome and thank you for visiting our  Medford Lakes School District website.

I am very excited about this year and the changes we are instituting.  First and foremost, we have developed a vision that ties the deep roots of our community to our programming. The vision is simply stated: "L.A.K.E.R.S." - Leadership, Accountability, Kindness, Enthusiasm, Respect and Service. These six pillars are the heart and soul of what drives our programs.  Our vision is that when students leave us for their next adventure, these pillars are a permanent part of who they are. We teach our Laker grads to be leaders who accept accountability; be kind at heart and enthusiastic when meeting a challenge; be respectful, and active participants in whatever community they live. We are L.A.K.E.R.S.!!

In addition to our vision, we are implementing a creative schedule that provides each and every student with additional time for reading, writing and mathematics.  Students in grades K-5 will experience a minimum of 160 minutes per day of reading and writing, while students in our middle school are going back to 80 minute blocks of ELA.  With regards to math, all students K-8 will receive 440 minutes of math per week.  Our goal is to have these adjustments strengthen the foundation skills all of our students need to be successful.  In addition to the academic changes, we also have brought the "lunch & learn" concept to Neeta.  Students in grades 3 through 8 will rotate through lunch, recess and enrichment sections within a 69 minute period.  During their enrichment section, students will get to choose to work in the art room, music room, STEAM lab, library or Spanish class.  Our goal is to assist and encourage the exploration of what these areas have to offer.

As you can see, there are plenty of things happening this year in  Medford Lakes School District.  We are thrilled to unleash the talents of our great staff on the possibilities of our new schedule.  Again, thanks for visiting and be sure to follow us on Facebook. Here is to a GREAT 2019-20 school year!
